Introduction
As an Emotion Code practitioner, I have worked with many clients who felt disconnected from their emotions or found it difficult to form deep, meaningful relationships. Often, these challenges stem from an energetic barrier around the heart known as the HEART-WALL. This concept, introduced by Dr. Bradley Nelson, is crucial in understanding how our subconscious mind protects us from emotional pain—sometimes to our own detriment.
What is a HEART-WALL?
In my practice, I often explain that the Heart-Wall is like an emotional armor your subconscious mind builds to shield your heart from further hurt. It’s made up of the energy from trapped emotions—those painful experiences that you couldn’t fully process at the time. While this wall is meant to protect you, it can also create barriers that prevent you from fully living and loving.
I once worked with a client who had experienced a painful breakup years earlier. Even though they had moved on, they still found it difficult to trust and open up in new relationships. Through our sessions, we identified a Heart-Wall that had formed during that traumatic time. As we worked to release those trapped emotions, the client began to feel lighter and more open to new possibilities in their personal life.
How Does the Heart-Wall Affect Us?
The Heart-Wall serves its purpose in protecting us, but it can also lead to several issues:
Emotional Disconnection: The Heart-Wall can numb your emotions, making it difficult to connect deeply with others. Many of my clients describe feeling like they are on the outside looking in, unable to fully engage with the people around them.
Physical Symptoms: It's not uncommon for a Heart-Wall to manifest physically. Clients often report discomfort in their chest, neck, or shoulders—areas that energetically correlate with the heart. One client experienced chronic neck pain that significantly improved after we released their Heart-Wall.
Relationship Challenges: The Heart-Wall can act as a barrier in relationships, creating a sense of distance or mistrust. Whether it’s difficulty in forming new connections or maintaining existing ones, the Heart-Wall often plays a significant role.

Why Should We Remove the Heart-Wall?
Releasing the Heart-Wall can be a transformative experience, leading to significant improvements in emotional and physical health. Here’s why it’s so important:
Improved Emotional Health: Without the Heart-Wall, you may find it easier to feel and express emotions. For example, a client who had struggled with depression for years felt a renewed sense of hope and joy after we removed their Heart-Wall.
Physical Relief: Many clients report feeling lighter and experiencing relief from physical symptoms, such as chronic tension or pain, once their Heart-Wall is removed.
Enhanced Relationships: Removing the Heart-Wall allows you to connect more deeply with others. One of my clients, who had been estranged from their family, found that after removing their Heart-Wall, they were able to reconnect and rebuild those relationships.
How Can You Remove the Heart-Wall?
The process of removing a Heart-Wall involves identifying and releasing the trapped emotions that created it. Using techniques from The Emotion Code, I help clients uncover these emotional blocks and gently release them. This process can be profoundly liberating, leading to greater emotional clarity and a more fulfilling life.
During a session, I guided a client through the process of identifying a Heart-Wall that had formed during childhood due to family conflicts. As we released the trapped emotions, the client began to experience a significant shift in their ability to communicate and connect with their loved ones.
Conclusion
The Heart-Wall is a powerful concept that helps us understand how emotional trauma can affect our lives. While it serves to protect us, it can also limit our capacity for love, joy, and connection. By taking steps to identify and release the Heart-Wall, you can open yourself up to a fuller, more vibrant life. If you’re ready to start this journey of emotional healing, I’m here to guide you every step of the way.
